IF WE CAN'T SEE THE TREES
Social Equality
Social Justice
Sustainable Existence
If we can't SEE trees,
if we don't talk to the birds and the bees,
if we can't FEEL NATURE
we are NOT ALIVE
I may breathe
I may speak
I may act
but if I have no spirit
I am NOT ALIVE
ACCESS to NATURE is a fundamental right
a fundamental of our very EXISTENCE
yet we are denied it everyday
in almost every way
Cars violently dissect our world
Their speed and noise disturb our being
Few other beings survive their impact
Buildings obstruct our horizons
Night lights obliterate the stars
even our GALAXY is invisibilised by our pollution
The rivers are bled of all their life
as we piss away oceans
creating seas of diluted shit
Millions of years of stored solar energy
exploded in the blink of a century
creating a slow inferno of GAIA retribution
WAR the primary mechanism of waste and destruction
CAPITALISM the 'culture' of this abuse
ANOTHER WORLD IS POSSIBLE
POSSIBLE EVERY DAY
LOVE NATURE
LOVE YOURSELF
LOVE OTHER
LOVE ALL
that's what cleanses me of the insanity, the bile, the greed and the stupidity
alas many choose the blue pill
to sleepwalk through the escalating, trench warfare of capitalist destruction
instead I weed trees, examine insects, try to learn from the bees
I am very lucky in having that most precious of New World Order commodities
I have TIME. Time for myself, for nature, for now
Having largely escaped the work/debt PRISON
I am occasionally free
I wish you were too
I hope you are
Join me if you can
there's another tree to care for
