When you give Sustainable Hackney your personal information we treat it very carefully. We are committed to processing your data fairly and transparently and only with your consent, as part of the service we provide, and in line with our aims and objectives. Your data is processed by our partners NING (website) and Mailchimp (mailing lists) on our behalf. We will keep your data secure and not share it with any third party, and we keep data for our organisation separate from data for our projects (Hackney Fixers, Hackney Green Drinks, and Hackney Food Partnership).
When you sign up to our website you are joining a social network and as part of the sign-up process we collect your email, name, profile information and contact preferences. Your account enables you to post content and network with other users in line with the terms of service.
When a friend sends you a message via the website or someone comments on content you have posted or invites you to an event you may receive emails alerting you to this. We may also send occasional messages to all members on the network. You can change your email preferences at any time.
Your profile information will be displayed on the website and you can change your privacy settings, for example so your profile is only visible to friends, people on the network or everyone. All your profile information except name is optional and your email is not visible to other members on the network. You can edit your profile or leave the network at any time by visiting the settings page. We can’t change your profile information for you, but we can delete your account on request. Your profile and content is also erased when you leave the network.
We will send you our regular email newsletters if you have given us your consent by opting in or signing up for news at an event. You can unsubscribe from these newsletters at any time using the link in the email or by contacting email@example.com.
The consents you give for our projects Hackney Fixers, Hackney Food Partnership and Hackney Green Drinks to contact you by email will be kept separate and data will not be shared between the projects without your consent. You can unsubscribe from these updates at any time using the link in the email.
Member data is collected when you complete a membership form or fill in our online membership form. Members agree to our aims and are governed by our constitution. We process this information to administer your membership and keep you informed of our meetings, e.g. Steering Group Meetings, Annual General Meetings or Special General Meetings. We keep the data secure and delete it two years after your membership lapses.
We may also email you about membership if you expresses interest by opting in when you sign up to the website.
You have the right to access the data we hold on you, to ask us to rectify any errors, to erase your data, to ask us to restrict how we process your data and to object to the way we process your data. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions about how to exercise these rights.
For more information about how we manage your personal data see our Data Protection Policy.
