Sign Divest Hackney’s petition and join Fossil Free London on Sat 28 April

Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, has taken the next step towards divesting the London Pension Fund from fossil fuels, and he’s called on other London Boroughs to do the same. This is good news, but there’s still lots to do to get the commitments we need and to build the fairer, cleaner Hackney and London we want to see.

A few things you can do to get involved - no contribution is too small ...

Sign the petition to Divest Hackney Council from fossil fuels:

Join Fossil Free London and friends to find out how you can make a difference in your city - book your place on Eventbrite, for:

  • Sat 28 April, 3 to 5pm
  • At Cruciform Building (Theatre 1), UCL, Gower Street, WC1E 6BT

Fossil Free London, a collaboration of groups working for social, economic and environmental justice across London and to cut our city’s ties with the fossil fuel industry, is organising a meeting to help you meet others who care, learn campaigning skills, and get involved!

Whether it’s calling for a clean, publicly-owned energy company for London, or fighting the injustice of cold homes and rip-off energy prices, pushing for divestment from fossil fuels, or building the homegrown, community-based energy solutions of the future - people all over London are getting it done. It’s time to join them.

London is a 'carbon capital': an epicentre of the financial and political power that props up industries causing climate chaos. Our city is built on a colonial legacy of injustice - continued today through the global devastation caused by London-based fossil fuel companies.

And our city is divided. While fossil fuel billionaires get richer - reaping profits from our outdated energy system, ordinary Londoners suffer - with rising fuel bills, poorly heated homes and dangerously polluted air.
