Transport for London are consulting on changes to the Stoke Newington Gyratory.
It's been many years in the making so the first disappointment is how little time there is to discuss and comment, just six weeks.
Sustainable Hackney will submit comments and we want to hear from you. Please let us have your views and suggestions in response to this blog.
We discussed the consultation at the Sustainable Hackney Steering Group and the Green Infrastructure Plan Working Group and will be making two points straightway:
The consultation is issued jointly by the Mayor of London, the London Borough of Hackney and TfL so we'll write to them jointly.
The second big disappointment is the total lack of consideration for new approaches to Green Infrastructure, despite London policy. This means serious consideration is given to the ecosystem, restoring its capacity and resilience in order to cope with climate change, improve our air quality and deliver the other ecosystem services we rely on.
Please let us have your views and suggestions.

Agree with the idea of some kind of open forum for discussion of suggestions. A series of workshops with TfL and LBH might be more productive than a public meeting. The aim must be for some continuous engagement after the formal consultation, to develop an agreed set of changes and build widespread support for them, avoiding a potentially polarising, and false, 'take it or leave it' choice. 'Removing the gyratory' is only a means to an end, or ends, not an end in itself.
Thanks for adding this info Gilbert. I think this is where you can ask questions and get answers though isn't it? We need a public meeting where people can ask questions and make suggestions together and discuss solutions so we make sure we get a robust scheme.
