Hackney has been awarded the third highest level of New Homes Bonus in the UK for 2014-15 - £13,141,188. The government rewards councils with the grant for increasing the number of homes and their use. It is based on the amount of extra Council Tax revenue raised and councils are free to spend the money to benefit their local area, but are expected to consult communities about how they will spend it.
What will Hackney Council be spending the £13 million grant on, and how is it consulting local communities?
