Today Hackney Fixers handed over 5 laptops to Lauriston School near Victoria Park.

They will be loaned to kids who have had no access to online learning at home during lockdown so they can access extra resources to help them catch up with their learning.

Following our appeal in July Hackney Fixers received the laptops thanks to the generosity of members of the public.  They have been refurbished and are being distributed to local college and school students who are struggling to access online learning.

"Lauriston was kind enough to host Hackney Fixers for our 5th anniversary event, so we have a direct connection with the school" said James Diamond.

"We received no laptops from the DfE scheme, but we still have vulnerable students who don't have online access at home" said Mohammed.

"Thanks to Hackney Fixers, we now have these resources for learning support" said Lorraine.

"We hope this project will help bridge the digital divide in Hackney as well as preventing waste and keeping valuable resources in use for longer" concludes James.

The project is now complete with a total of 29 laptops donated to three schools, students at a local college, a community drop-in service and a refugee service.  Thanks to everyone who donated laptops to the project! it has meant a lot to those in need.

On Friday we delivered 6 laptops to Grazebrook School  Grazebrook has hosted several Restart Parties in the past so we have a connection and this is a nice way to thank them.

Well done James and Hackney Fixers - that's great.

Well done AGAIN for donating laptops to Grazebrook - the DfE need to take a leaf from your book!
