A busy time at Sustainability Awareness day

On Saturday 30th September, at the Sustainability Awareness Day in the Town Hall Square we welcomed members of the public to two stalls, one for Hackney Energy and the other for Sustainable Hackney.

A steady stream of ‘sustainable punters’ visited our stalls expressing interest in the exciting projects completed and proposed by Hackney Energy, and the many other streams of sustainability covered by our widening Sustainble Hackney umbrella.

Many people took away our new leaflet detailing our projects and are considering signing up to the group citing their particular environmental interest, others committed to joining up as members on the day.

We hope to increase our membership as well as our steering group after this event and anticipate that it will ultimately encourage a broadening of expertise and interest in sustainability on which the group can draw.
