Local ecologist and wildlife expert Russell Miller opens your eyes to wild bees and other magic insects on his marvellous walk around King Henry’s Walk Garden. On this course we will be exploring the insect life at KHWG. The longest day is an ideal time to look for heat loving, summer species like wild bees, wasps and hoverflies, as well as many ground beetles. Did you know there are 250 different species of bees in Britain? Russell will discuss the various roles these insects play in pollination, pest control and recycling. If you have ever wanted to know what those little creatures are that you find in the garden then this is a chance to find out. Russell is chair of Sustainable Hackney and a specialist in trees, wild bees and beetles.
Access: King Henry’s Walk Garden is completely accessible to wheelchair users. We have a wheelchair-accessible WC. We can provide induction loops on request – please text us on 07507 201453 to book one. Please let us know if you have any specific access needs. We will do our best to accommodate them.
