Do you want to take part in the design and development of an exciting new edible food forest in Hackney? Join us on Saturday 25th October at Hackney Tree Nursery as we unveil proposals for the new Mabley Green edible park.
Local ecologist Annie Chipchase will lead us on our tour of the wonderful Hackney Tree Nursery and Edible Forest Garden, a highly successful community project on the edge of Hackney Marshes. Learn about the basic principals of permaculture and forest gardening, explore the site, and hopefully meet the resident bees.
From here, we will be led on a tour of the Mabley Green proposed site and adjacent meadow with Damian Rafferty, Chair of the Mabley Green User Group before returning to the Nursery for refreshments and an informal ideas session. This could be your opportunity to participate in a new and exciting project, pledge your skills or simply learn more about food growing in the city.
