Event Description

In the search for reliable, sustainable fuels, is it time to move energy recovery up the waste hierarchy?

Energy from waste can provide a very substantial contribution to reaching the Government’s 2020 renewable energy targets. With just over 100 months until these targets come into force, recovered energy should be seen as an important investment in our future – not just an alternative to landfill.

Explaining how energy from waste is affected by the Electricity Market Reform (EMR) the Department of Energy and Climate Change will present on the transition from Renewable Obligation Certificates (ROCs) to long term contracts.

Our expert speakers will outline the challenges of energy from waste projects – from the initial funding to the day-to-day running of the project. They’ll also discuss risks and how to safeguard against them to ensure a reliable, efficient and profitable plant.
