Care about the environment? Love cooking and eating great food? Think you and your neighbours can make a difference?
Then come to the next free PACT Meal!
When food is thrown away, the carbon that went into growing, harvesting, storing, transporting and cooking it is wasted. PACT meals aim to reduce food waste, by sourcing ingredients which would otherwise be thrown away and using them to make delicious feasts.
If you'd like to volunteer with the cooking, please come from 10.30am to help make it a success, and spread the good vibes. People who love to eat great food, please come down from 12.30pm.
PACT Meals are produced in partnership with the People's Kitchen. It is a free event where we collect surplus food from local grocery stores, supermarkets and food growers and then combine it with our team of volunteers to make an amazing meal for the community!
The venue is the Edible Landscapes London site, which is just next to the Manor House Underground Tube Station. Just walk out of the underground station and on your left there will the Park View Cafe and the gate to Finsbury Park. Walk through the gate into Finsbury Park and turn right. On your right hand side there will be the entrance to Green Routes - you can see it easily because of the massive greenhouse, polytunnels and growing spaces! Please feel free to invite all your friends and neighbours to this great community event.
Also, if you have any food in your fridge or kitchen that you will not use this week, please bring it down so we can add it to the meal. See you there!
