Event Description

See four episodes from Reel News' marvellous 'American Climate Rebels' series and participate in the discussion on how to change fast enough to save ourselves and our planet.

These inspiring stories from North American follow workers and communities as they wrestle with jobs in the tar sands industry, gaining control in an oil corporation-dominated town, building a solidarity economy where unemployment has prevailed since share-cropping and tackling climate impacts and waste in New York City.

Shaun Dey - Reel News will introduce each episode. Kicking off the discussion will be:

  • Kathryn Johnson, Sustainable Hackney
  • Sam Mason, Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS)
  • Javed Mawji, Director Greentech Corporation Ltd and ex-Director Ecotech London Ltd.
  • Fliss Premu, Campaign Against Climate Change Trade Union Group (CACCTU)
  • Max Smith, School Striker.

Doors open 7pm. Bar and snacks to buy.

Stalls. Donations, if you can, on the door.
