Hackney and Islington Stand Up to Racism hopes you will be able to attend the screening of Refuge in Music, a Holocaust Memorial Day event introduced by David Rosenberg from the Jewish Socialist Group. The film tells the story of Alice Herz-Sommer and Coco Schumann, two extraordinary musicians from very different musician worlds, both of whom survived the Nazi concentration camp at Terezín, near Prague. All musicians in the film appeared without a fee and all musician royalties have been donated to charity.
The event will also hear a report back from a recent educational visit to Auschwitz.
Free admission.
