A wildflower (probably with some bees) exploration of a little known gem of Hackney Marshes - the brownfield ('mosaic habitat') site on East Marsh. Once it was a car park, till HMUG helped persuade LBH to turn it over to nature in 2016. Come and see what nature is up to, 3 years on.
Led by botanist Annie Chipchase who helped design the site. Totally free.
Meet at the site, north-easternmost corner of East Marsh. Just the thing for your after-Sunday-lunch stroll or cycle. Or you can get a bus 308 / W15 to Ruckholt Road Bridge, a few steps from the site.
Wear something thistle-proof on your legs! This is not a picture meadow created with a pretty seed mix. This is the post-urban wilds.
