Community spaces in Waltham Forest, Tower Hamlets and Hackney in need of a revamp can benefit from a free give-away of 6000 litres of reclaimed paint.
Our ‘Colour The Capital’ project in partnership with Global Street Art are inviting all community groups located within these three boroughs to apply for free paint, which is reclaimed as surplus from companies and recycling initiatives.
The project which aims to help those who are experiencing socio-economic disadvantage is supported by the Peoples Millions Competition and Big Lottery Fund.
Organisations and community groups – no matter how big or small – may be eligible for free paint if they are located within these three boroughs, seeking to brighten up a community room or space, or delivering creative projects and activities requiring paint. The project on average will save groups £30,000 and reduce carbon emissions by more than 15000 kg.
Anyone interested should fill out this application Form and email it to colourthecapital@gmail.com. If successful, you will then be issued with a voucher which you must bring with you when you collect the paint.
Additionally, individuals in these boroughs who have surplus paint can also find information on the closest recycling sites to donate their unwanted paint here.
