We are very happy to announce the opening of our cafe in the Morningside Community Centre.

In the heart of Hackney, CAFÉ MORNINGSIDE invites you to enjoy breakfast, lunch and snacks in an inclusive and relaxed space.

Community, food sustainability, and healthy eating are the three essential ingredients in the Morningside saucepan. The kitchen celebrates food heritage, with a dazzling line up of international migrant chefs and the help of local residents.

The menu evolves day to day, offering delicious and healthy meals with NO SET PRICES: we have suggested donations and encourage customers to pay as much as they are able.

We also serve take boxes, so feel free to grap your lunch too!

Breakfast special: French Toast with sautéed mushrooms

Lunch: Chicken Stew, Brazilian Style

Vegetarian option: Moroccan Vegetable Tagine with couscous

Apple Crumble with home made ice cream

Tea, coffee, juices and smoothies, home made cake

Our food is sourced primarily from local businesses' surplus donations: it’s our priority to address food waste issues through a more sustainable approach to hospitality.

The team is ever growing, seeking creative input from anyone who wants to get involved, as valuable work experience or just a fun social project. As a non profit enterprise, it’s our dream that CAFÉ MORNINGSIDE evolves to be a vibrant and active hub for Hackney. Volunteers can get involved in all aspects of the project: from welcoming guests, to learning about food sustainability, to working alongside inspiring chefs in the Morningside kitchen.

We positively welcome bookings from community groups who would like to visit Café Morningside for a meal.

Our opening hours are 9 am to 4pm on Thursdays and Fridays, come and say hello!
