Where I live there is a forgotten space, ignored by the developers who built the block of flats I live in, 8 years ago.
And good job too, because now its strewn with native and introduced (centuries ago though!) wild flowers that love poor soil and difficult, rocky conditions - your typical roadside in fact. I think I've identified some of them - White Campion, Ribwort Plaintain, Scarlet Pimpernel and Red Clover - if anyone can put another name to them (see my terrible pics, which don't include the Red Clover, pic is too fuzzy) please do so!
None are particularly rare, but all are just gorgeous to have so close by. I'd love to hear from anyone that knows of other forgotten little spaces where wild flowers have taken hold...
