bee identification

After Russell's excellent bee walk in Abney I have been looking a lot closer but have very little idea of what I am seeing. I know the difference between bumbles and honey bees but not much more than that. Is there anyone else living in the Abbey /Kyverdale Road area interested in learning more with me? Possibly checking identification chart in garden or Abney...

I have a list of 30 species recorded in Hackney so far. I will post the list and photographs here shortly but in the meantime you can see various photos of Hackney bees in my bee folder here and my bee set on Flickr.

Please post any Hackney bee sightings and photos here on SH. Ideally with a date and location of the sighting.
