Event Description

As part of National Tree Planting week and Londons Mass Tree planting weekend - Plastic Free Hackney will be hosting our own tree planting event at Stonebridge Lock thanks to the Canal River Trust.

We have 300+ saplings that have been kindly donated to us from The Woodland Trust and the Mayor of London. These are a mix of native British species which will make great hedgerows for wildlife habitat, as well as grow to full size beautiful Elders/Oak/Crab Apple/Elder/Cherry and many more trees in an area in need of TLC!

Please wear appropriate clothing and bring a spade/shovel/trowel if you can. These are small saplings so no major digging involved. Most importantly please bring with you a smile and bags of enthusiasm to regenerate the land back to wild abundance.

There is a lovely cafe/edible community garden and toilet at the lock for breaks and refreshment.

All ages are welcome!

Book: Let us know your coming and find out more details here.

If you can't make it on Sunday, don't panic there are plenty other similar events happening all over London, which you can see on the Mayor of Londons map here.

In the new year we shall be organising another Tree Planting event - this time in Hackney with Hackney Council, so sign-up to our mailing list or social media to be the first to hear about it!
