Empowering Hackney with Education for Sustainable Development
Hackney can boast dozens of local environmental campaigns - from cycling, recycling, air quality, food, waste, community energy, biodiversity, to the built environment, social justice and many more. But what part does Education for Sustainable Development play in the borough and what more can be done to empower the next generation? According to the United Nations, Education for Sustainable Development allows every human being to acquire the knowledge, skills, attitudes and values necessary to shape a sustainable future. Empowerment lies at the heart of effective teaching and learning.
