Come and show your support for our deputation to Hackney Council’s cabinet meeting on Monday, December 13^th from 17.30 -18.30. Sustainable Hackney is calling for a 'pause and review' of the construction of the enlarged Edmonton incinerator. Its size and the fact that it will incinerate large volumes of waste that could be re-cycled means it poses a huge threat to air quality and could create 700k tonnes of carbon emissions. The council has made it clear that they will not concede and call for a pause and review to assess better environmental options despite the concerns of residents in Hackney and the six other north-east London boroughs.
