On Thursday 3 April, Growing Communities will be running one of their ever-popular seasonal taster events when they invite people to try free samples of tasty dishes made with produce from Hackney’s award-winning organic community-led box scheme.

The event will be taking place from 5pm till 7pm just north of London Fields on Richmond Road, which is on the bike path that runs from the City through London Fields, Clapton and Walthamstow to Epping (London cycle route number 9).

Cycle commuters and other passers-by will be able to try nibbles and snacks made with local, seasonal produce and then take away recipe sheets so they can try making the low-cost meals for themselves at home.

Kick Studio, just along Richmond Road from the bike path, is the latest addition to the list of pick-up points for Growing Communities’ organic veg box scheme. It runs a selection of courses including kick boxing, yoga and personal training – and has a great café and chill-out area too.

Growing Communities has been running its award-winning box scheme for 20 years, bringing together the community to support local farmers and ensure people in Hackney can enjoy great, affordable organic food. It has 13 pick-up points across the borough, many of which are on or near cycle routes.
