Thanks to a grant from Hackney Council’s Healthier Hackney Fund, charity Plan Zheroes – “the zero food waste heroes” - are pleased to announce that their first borough focused project in London is now underway!

Utilising Plan Zheroes’ innovative online platform Hackney businesses that have surplus food can now connect with local charities and community groups that need it. Any type of food business - from small stores to manufacturers, restaurants or community food growers – can benefit from using the free platform to share donations of surplus food to local charities instead of sending it to landfill. Local residents are also encouraged to get involved rescuing good quality surplus food by helping to transport food donations or spreading the word and recruiting more businesses and charities to sign up.

So join us at Hackney House for an afternoon of delicious nibbles (made from food that would have gone to waste!) and to celebrate the launch our project in Hackney.
