Designed for those who:
Own or intend to own solar panels for off-grid use.
Want further training in how to connect panels together, connect panels to batteries, charge controllers, battery guards and appliances.
Want to understand more about how their panels work and how best to set them up for off-grid use.
Want to learn more about energy, and the issues we face for the future.
It is a half-day training course, in groups of up to ten people. It will usually run from 11am-3:30pm. You will learn:
The electrical basics: current, voltage, resistance, power, series and parallel circuits.
How to test, understand and use 12V batteries.
How to use the right components to build circuits to power phones and laptop chargers from your battery.
Direction and advice for further circuit and systems design and build.
Information about the energy dilemma in the UK and possible future solutions.
We can personalise training sessions by request, e.g. for particular uses such as phone charging. Please get in touch before hand.
