Event Description

The London Feminist Film Festival is an independent festival set up in 2012, which celebrates international feminist films past and present. We firmly believe in the potential of filmmaking as feminist activism and as an agent of social change.

In the patriarchal filmmaking industry, the LFFF's mission is to open up a space for women and non-binary/trans filmmakers to share their stories and showcase their talents. We aspire to offer a diverse programme of feminist films from all over the world, of different genres, both fiction and non-fiction, short and feature length.

The festival runs for three days at the end of August, and the screenings are followed by panel discussions that encourage debate and questions from our faithful and demanding audience. Activists, critics, academics and community leaders have participated in our post-screening panels, and make them a vibrant forum for the feminist community to network. Past speakers have included renowned director Carol Morley, BFI programmer Helen DeWitt, author Sophie Mayer, MP Chi Onwurah and Club des Femmes founder Selina Robertson.
