Participants will engage with the process of making by experimenting with the nature of the material to develop new skills within a professional environment. All craft activities will be delivered by experienced artist educators.
Monday: Field trip to Phytology garden where the group will learn more about composting and compost toilets, one of the projects run on-site by artist and community gardener Hari Byles. Together they will open a discussion and explore different compost systems on site.
Tues-Fri: At Standpoint Studios young people will work in different crafts such as ceramics, letterpress printmaking and textile to develop a project based on their gained knowledge on composting.
Fri afternoon: Final show of all the artwork by the participants to families, friends and the public.
