Dear supporters,
We are looking forward to our meeting on “How to Stop the Silvertown Tunnel”, on Saturday 22 January at 11.0 am. It will be held on zoom, and at the Waterloo Action Centre (14 Baylis Road, SE1 7AA, two minutes’ walk from Waterloo station).
You are welcome to attend on line, or in person. If you have not registered yet, please do so today on eventbrite. Please circulate this to others.
The purpose of the event is NOT just to put the arguments for stopping the tunnel. We will focus mainly on actions we can take to stop it.
We will talk about political action (with Sian Berry of the London Assembly and David Gardner of Greenwich council), trade union and workplace action (with representatives of the transport workers’ and teachers’ unions), health and community action (with Delia Mattis of Black Lives Matter and Dr Jackie Applebee), and direct action (with Raj Patel, the civil liberties lawyer, and a talk on the Oxleas Woods campaign of the 1990s).
I attach the programme for the meeting, and a graphic to spread the word on social media.

On Sunday 23 January at 3.30 pm, we will join a candlelit vigil at Mountfield Park, Catford, SE6, to remember Ella Kissi-Debrah, who died as a result of air pollution. Details here, and a notice is attached.
Best wishes,
Simon Pirani,
for the Stop the Silvertown Tunnel coalition.
