We want local residents and stakeholders to have their say on proposals to re-invigorate Aske Gardens and make it a vibrant and welcoming sports and cultural space. At the event on 30 June you can see the proposals to improve the space and give your views on re-opening the gates to the gardens, replacing park furniture, new planting and signage.
Some of the main aims of the proposal are to give children and young people better quality green space and encourage them to use it. This helps keep children active and improves their quality of life. It also supports our Parks Strategy by helping improve park facilities across Hackney.
A series of four week-long creative workshops about the proposals for Aske Gardens will be held throughout June and July at '1948' Arches 477-478 Bateman's Row, EC2A 3HH. Workshops are will include illustration, film-making, fashion, photography, exploring the urban realm and other activities.
The results of the workshops will be displayed in the park during a two week programme of events in August. After this the space will continue to be available for community use while we finalise the plans to improve the park.
