Event Description

In WEEE week we'll be at Dalston CLR James Library hosting a Restart Party to raise awareness of repairing and recycling for electrical waste rather than landfill.

WEEE, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment, is growing faster than other types of waste, and too much is ending up in landfill where it can be hazardous.

Repairing your tired toaster, lazy laptop, poorly printer or morbid mobile at a Restart Party is a great way to prevent WEEE.

There will be a WEEE collection point and advice on safe recycling, and we're hoping to go live with the Fixometer on this one so we can monitor results in real time!

The library service will provide a shelf of repair books for us to browse: any suggestions for books welcome!

The venue is handy for Dalston Junction and Dalston Kingsland on the Overground.

Take back control of your e-stuff, never feel victim to obsolescence again.  We help you learn how to fix all kinds of devices, starting with troubleshooting, advising on spare parts if necessary and more.

Don't leave it to the last minute and remember: we're happy to help you learn how to repair.

We are not repair professionals, and Restart Parties are a community self-repair event. Please take responsibility for your own gadget, your own data, so do not forget to back-up your data.

Hi Nakao, it is certainly worth bringing them along, no need to bring any tools, but bring a CD and headphones so we can test them. James

hello! i've got a hifi amp which started to distort the sound really badly and a CD player which stopped playing CD (the radio still works). would you help me fix them or is it too ambitious to tackle the amp? if you think it's worth having a go, can you let me know what kind of tools should i bring. thanks!
