Care about the environment and reducing waste? Love cooking and eating great food? Then come to the next free PACT Meal!
When food is thrown away, the carbon that went into growing, harvesting, storing, transporting and cooking it is wasted. PACT meals aim to reduce food waste, by working with local shopkeepers and food growers to source ingredients which would otherwise be thrown away and then combine it with our team of volunteers to make a delicious feast for the community.
PACT Meals are delivered in partnership with Transition Finsbury Park and the People's Kitchen. It is a free event and no meal is the same as ingredients available will vary and the volunteer chefs bring their imagination to rustle up ever more inventive for the community to sample. If you'd like to volunteer with the cooking, please come from 10.30am to help make it a success and the good vibes. People who love to eat great food and want to enjoy sharing a meal and meeting new people, please come down for lunch from 12.30pm.
The venue is the Edible Landscapes London site, which is just next to Manor House Tube Station. Just walk out of the underground station and enter the main gate to Finsbury Park. Once inside , turn right and on your right hand side there will be the entrance to Green Routes - you can see it easily because of the massive greenhouse, polytunnels and growing spaces! Please feel free to invite all your friends and neighbours to this great community event.
Also, if you have any food in your fridge or kitchen that you will not use this week, please bring it down so we can add it to the meal. See you there!
