Event Description

Cosmetics – Good Enough To Eat

Sat 6th April, 11am-3.30pm

“We spend huge amounts of money on beauty
products

that put toxins into our bodies. If we wouldn’t
eat it, why

are we OK with putting it on our skin?”

Sarah Bentley, Made In Hackney Founder

Would you feel comfortable eating your face cream,
lip balm or in fact any of the cosmetics rattling
around your bathroom cabinet? In an ideal world
you would. Our skin is our most absorbent organ so
what we put on it should be no less toxic than the
food we eat.

Learn how to make your own low cost, edible
cosmetics with this one day master class led by
home alchemist Julie Riehl.

The day’s program will include:

-Information about the shocking nasties found in
everyday cosmetics

-Learn what locally sourced produce works best for
your skin type

-Make your own face-mask, lip balms, scrubs, body
cream and more

-Take home recipes of everything made in the class

-A free organic lunch made from locally sourced
ingredients

-Vegan suitable recipes and lunch

Fee: *£65 (includes a free organic lunch)

*This fee is used by MIH to deliver their vital program of free cookery courses to vulnerable community groups

Date: Saturday April 6th 2013 Time: 11am-3.30pm
