A small group in Stoke Newington are starting a community garden - Mary's Garden on St Mary's Church grounds. This follows a series of listening circles co-organised by St Mary's Church and Extinction Rebellion that sought to gather local community concerns. One of such concerns to arise was isolation and feelings of loneliness following the pandemic. As a result a practical project to solve this was the creation of a community garden, seeking to engage local community members suffering such feelings.
To help develop the garden, we will be holding a community engagement event this month (see details below) inviting local community members to learn more about the project. We will also hold a listening circle for locals to share their ideas about the garden and ask any questions. Details of the event below:
