Restart party, what a buzz!

Our first Restart party at Passing Clouds with Friends of the Earth went well, so many people we were struggling to keep up with demand. It was great the way people pitched in to help repair each other's stuff! Thanks to Friedericke, our friends at FOE, and of course, our lovely repairers!

Comment by Sustainable Hackney on December 3, 2013 at 13:35: 24 people brought 33 items to the recent party. 11 were fixed on the day and 10 were partly fixed, meaning people learned more about repairing, diagnosed the problem and knew what to do next. The most popular items were laptops (16), but there were also digital cameras, printers, hoovers plus a smartphone, a blender, a mixer, a toaster, headphones, a juicer, a hairdryer, a clock-radio, and a breadmaker. Bring it on, looking forward to the next one!

Comment by James Diamond on November 18, 2013 at 11:04: Maybe half the items were laptops, some dead, some slow and we also repaired a toaster, a vacuum cleaner, a blender and diagnosed the fault with a breadmaker which can now be a DIY fix. There were around 20-30 items. Will say more when we've done a proper analysis. There were cheers when the vacuum motor leapt into life!

What kinds of things were brought in for repair, in the event?
