About me
I work for the RSPB, Europe's largest conservation charity. I have been a Hackney school governor and community activist.

Formerly a journalist, I found it too frustrating writing about sustainability and the need to change, so quit that profession and now actively work and campaign for sustainability.

Has anyone seen a hedgehog in their garden or one of Hackney's open spaces?

Like the rest of London, Hackney's losing its sparrows, starlings, hedgehogs, slow worms and bees.

We're lucky in having so much green space in the borough and some pretty healthy gardens too. More wildflowers, native hedges and grasses all help, so please do adopt a tree-pit, have a windowbox or turn your allotment into a food growing nature reserve.
