Sustainable Hackney (SH) held a very successful first AGM on 25th April at the new Dalston CLR James Library. Around 40 people attended the formal AGM before retiring to the Dalston Curve Garden for a social.
SH aims to network, support and raise the voices of those in Hackney already engaged in making Hackney more sustainable and to pressure local agencies to do better in policy and practise.
Some of the areas we will be working on in the year ahead include: local food, LBH recycling policy, bringing some sustainability to LBH planning decisions, bees & biodiversity, and local accountability.
Amongst those represented were: Arcola Theatre, Chelsea Fringe, Dalston Curve Garden, EcoActive, Growing Communities, Hackney City Farm, Hackney Community Voluntary Service, Hackney Council, Hackney Green Party, Hackney Marshes User Group, Hackney Trades Council, Haggerston Park Users Group, London Fields Users Group, Lordship North Estate Edible Garden, Open Dalston, Tower Hamlets and Hackney Friends of the Earth, Transition Towns Hackney, Tree Musketeers, Urban Bees.
