A new guide from the Department for Communities and Local Government encourages people to 'spot a plot' as it highlights the importance of community food growing spaces and recognises the health and environmental benefits that community food growing can bring.

The guide doesn't cover all the obstacles and challenges food growers might face in the urban environment but does include useful practial advice for individuals and community groups to get growing and is accompanied by case studies, including Hackney's own Growing Kitchen at Wenlock Barn.
