We are looking for other groups and individuals that are interested in campaigning with us against the extensive use of glyphosate in Hackney.

Glyphosate use is associated with damage to human health, particularly to the endocrine system, as well as posing known dangers to biodiversity, to animal fertility and to aquatic life. You can read more on FoE's website here: http://www.foeeurope.org/sites/default/files/publications/foee_medi...

Hackney presently spends £40,000 a year on spraying the streets with a glyphosate mix, despite pledging to make Hackney pesticide free by 2014.

Please get in touch with us by email: saveleytonmarsh@hotmail.co.uk if you would be interested in working with us on this issue.

Wow £40k is a shocking waste of money on weed killer.  Part of the Pipe dream to turn Hackney into a Surrey suburb by erasing all evidence of life. The LBH obsession with clean streets has meant a war on character with high pressure destruction of vibrant street art and sweeping away the bedrock of Hackney alternativism. Did you get an admission as to the £40k or was it in a FIR? New Labour No Thought.

Good discussion topic. Will return to Monsanto mania v biodiversity in a future post.
