Resist Lea Valley Park land sell-off

We're very concerned about a threat to sell park land near the north edge of Hackney Marsh to build housing. Please, if you can, get a short email off to Waltham Forest council by the end of Tuesday 31st Jan.

All that's needed:

* address: leabridgeandleytonconsultation@walthamforest.gov.uk

* title: Lea Bridge Eastside Vision Consultation

* Ask the council to remove the…

Marshes North Pavilion - have your say now

There is just under a week left for you to comment on proposals for a new building and car park on the north marsh. Please try to get your comments in. The questionnaire is open until 9 July on the council's web site.

East Marsh restoration begins

By autumn of next year, we're promised, the green space will be restored. The football and rugby pitches that were shoehorned onto the main marsh will be moved back. The pressure on space ended HMUG's…

Hackney Weekend - how was it for you?

After the 4-week closure of parts of Hackney Marshes for the Hackney Weekend, we'd like to get the experiences & views of anyone who uses the Marshes.

Hackney Council envisages up to three events attracting 100,000 people on the marsh every year, under its new events policy (April 2012). When the next event is proposed we would like to be ready with the evidence from this one.

Did the closures and the Weekend affect you? Please let us know, with a comment here or at…
