Made In Hackney - Local Food Kitchen 2012 program of Sunday afternoon workshops

We're a new project concerned with educating, promoting and celebrating all aspects of local food. Our core activities include running pay-by-donation Sunday afternoon workshops which are open to all and six week courses (Seed To Plate; Harvest To Jar; Forage To Fork, Making To Sell) which we deliver to community groups such as young carers, low income families, and minority groups.

Hackney Foodbank preparing to open - is this the way to address food poverty?

A charity that works in Bulgaria and the UK is encouraging people to buy an extra tin or packet of food when they visit the supermarket and then donate it to a food bank so it can be given out to someone in crisis or with insufficient benefits, with a Christian message or two.
