Can’t get a GP appointment? Struggling to find a dentist? Have a friend or family member on a surgical waiting list? If the answer is ‘Yes’ to any of the above, then you are not alone. People all over the country are struggling to get the care they need for a decent quality of life.
Ahead of the General Election later this year, Keep Our NHS Public is launching a new campaign to build support for our vision for a People’s NHS. Sustainable Hackney is in full support of this campaign, and we encourage our members to sign-up. Members are also encouraged to propose a motion on this issue to your union or any organisation you are a member of.
A public NHS for all is the most successful model of health care provision this country has ever had. That’s why we’re asking campaign organisations, trade unions, health care experts, politicians and perhaps most important of all, you, the general public, to back our call for a return to the founding principles of the NHS, because they work.
Keep Our NHS Public’s vision is based on the following 5 main principles:
A publicly provided NHS: end private involvement
An NHS funded to succeed – not defunded to fail
Respect, recognition, and decent pay & conditions for all health workers
Re-invest in public health & tackle health inequalities
Rebuild, restore, and expand our NHS
