I'm an environmental photographer based in Hackney. I've recently exhibited at University College London in support of an international conference on urban sustainability and resilience which was well received. This experience has made me determined to exhibit in Hackney and showcase the impressive environmental and sustainability initiatives in our borough. Recently, I've been fortunate to get the backing of Hackney Museum on Mare Street to display my work for 3 weeks in the month of February (which really isn't that far away now).
So how can you help? I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has ideas on locations, buildings, events, projects or people in the borough that would fit well with the theme of this project. I hope to cover a broad spectrum of topics within sustainability (transport, food, renewable energy, energy efficiency etc) rather than focus exclusively on one or two topics only.
This is a key opportunity to raise the profile of sustainability in the borough and to spread environmental awareness amongst the local people of Hackney through the power of photography. I can think of no better forum for gathering ideas than the Sustainable Hackney website so please don't be shy and drop me a line with your thoughts.
Kind regards
Colin
