For Fashion Revolution Week, SOAS Ethical Fashion Society will be hosting a Remake & Remodel/Body Politic Workshop, where you can learn to knit, embroid something beautiful, explore visual mending with darning techniques or express social/political messages through the use of screen-printed logos and lettering. Logos and lettering have kindly been made by https://www.bodypolitic.space who work to encourage and facilitate others in a movement for positive resistance.
Fashion Revolution Week commemorates the Rana Plaza disaster that took place in Dhaka Bangladesh in 2013 where 1134 garment factory workers died in a factory collapse. Unfortunately, Rana Plaza was not an isolated incident and today unsafe factories and exploited workers continue to prop-up the trillion dollar industry.
SOAS Ethical Fashion Society seeks to raise awareness of ongoing

(2) Please bring an item that you would like to repair or give a makeover- denim jackets work perfectly if you have one that you would like to spice up!
(3) Please try to arrive at 1 pm, so you have enough time to finish your garment.
(4) If you are not a part of SOAS university, you will need to sign in at reception where a member of staff will give you a visitors pass and direct you to the Russel Room.
(5) There will be free fair trade chocolate and tea!
