Event Description

GROW VEG IN HACKNEY WICK--NEW FREE PLOTS OPEN TO EVERYONE!!!

Community Garden Launch Meeting
Thursday 28th February 2013
6:30 pm at the Cre8 Centre, The Old Baths, 80 Eastway, E9 5JH (we are meeting in the East Gallery of the building)

Want to grow veg, or learn how to grow veg, in East London but don't have access to land?  The Cre8 community centre in Hackney Wick is opening up a large, free, community food growing space in a sunny south-facing plot just behind our building this spring. We have the land and the tools to grow food--all that is missing are the people to make the project come alive--that's YOU.  This food growing space will belong to the community so please so come to our launch meeting to find out more and get involved.

The raised beds will be built over the next couple of months, and there are plans for a small greenhouse on site as well. We are looking for all aspects of the community to get involved--local schools, gardening groups, youth groups, pensioners, experienced gardeners or total beginners--anyone and everyone is welcome.

Can't make the meeting on Thursday? Not a problem--tell us you are interested and we will be in touch with how you can get involved. Email Craig at chunter@londoncoaching.org or call him on 07969 177472 or 'friend' us on Facebook at  www.facebook.com/Cre8LifestyleCentre

See you on the 28th!!

Sean (on behalf of the Cre8 Centre)
