Event Description

Hackney Council is planning changes to waste collections next year. These changes will affect residents in street-level properties (houses or houses converted into flats), but not those in estates.

The Environmental Services Team is hosting a series of remote engagement sessions about the changes. They are looking for a diverse range of Hackney residents to take part, but specifically in these groups: 18-24 year olds, older people, parents with babies, residents with disabilities and large families.

There are two ways to get involved:

Online drop in sessions (Tuesday 24th November, 11:00-11:45am and 12:00-12:45pm). These live sessions will be held over Zoom where the team will present the plans for the waste service change and answer questions from participants. Please register here if you would like to attend either of these sessions. The team will provide a link where you can submit your questions in advance and a link to the Zoom session will be sent to you before the event. If you can’t attend on the day, a recording of the video will be uploaded so you can catch up at a later date.
Telephone call in. If you would like to discuss the service change and you are not able to take part in the online sessions, then call the team on 020 8356 6688 and leave your name and number. Someone from the Environmental Services Team will call you back to arrange a time for a call to discuss the service change.
