Event Description

We are moving outdoors into London Fields park for our next Hackney Restart Party! We will be alongside a local council "Give and Take" event in our own marquee. Love food Hate Waste will also be there so it should be tasty as well as busy!

Bring your poorly printers, laggardly laptops, morbid mobiles and other dead devices: let's see if some enthusiastic repairers can help you to breathe new life into your technology.

Our last Party was busy, so come early to be sure of getting some help.  If you have more than one item to fix, please think about your "priority" gadget. If a lot of other people are waiting, we may only have the chance to look at one item.

New repairers are welcome, as always.  Please download and distribute the poster, if you can, thanks.

Hi Diana,

We do include all electrical repairs where practical:
someone's bringing a pair of hair straighteners.

But point taken:
next time we should include other things on the poster.

Pedal power sounds fun: safe cycling in the midst of a give and take event is otherwise virtually impossible, and all in a good cause. Good for you.

Hi Diana,

Thanks for you comment.  As you have noticed we have deliberately targetted this event at smaller appliances because we were not sure whether we'd have mains power in the park to run larger appliances.  We will in fact have limited access to a mains supply which will be specially provided for us so we will be able to handle larger appliances as well, for example hoovers, mixers, toasters etc.

We are also aiming to have some off-grid power sources - pedal power, battery packs and solar chargers for smaller appliances as well.  Partly because our repairers are up for the challenge and also to raise awareness of the amount of power different appliances consume.

As previously, I'd consider promoting the poster if it included non-IT repairs....
