Sustainable Hackney AGM and discussion on Blue-Green Infrastructure Planning

The AGM receives reports on the previous year's work, plans for the future, elects the Steering Group and approves the report and accounts.

Our discussion this year will be the development of a Green Infrastructure Plan for Hackney, a commitment in the Council's Manifesto.  Speakers include Mireille Tchapi, Research Fellow at University of Westminster Faculty of Architecture and Built Environment who will open with an overview. We'll also hear from Marie Murray and Brian Cummings on the Eastern Curve Garden and John Little contractor Clapton Park TMO who works on the Daubeney 10x greener project.  We hope to be joined by Lea Boaters Collective.

We need to make sure the Plan covers all key factors in seeking to build resilience: climate adaptation, biodiversity, and supporting human and ecological wellbeing.

We've invited Cllrs Jon Burke and Feryal Demirchi to contribute and discuss how they will take the planning forward. We're looking for a participative process.

Come along to the Eastern Curve Garden for our social after the AGM.

If you are interested in joining our Committee you can volunteer on the night but you need to be a full member.  If you want to know more phone 07738 567554.

If you are interested in the Website Officer position on the Steering Group (which is voluntary, not paid) please see the Noticeboard volunteering section (look to the right).
