''Interested in preserving? Want to load up your pantry with jarred goodies but not sure where to start? I’ll lead you through the A-Z of all things preservation based with delicious and fresh ingredients, all locally sourced, seasonal and organic.'' says Ximena Ransom, Patchwork Farmer and Cookery Teacher at Made In Hackney.

The class will include:

  • Tips and tricks for making successful jam and chutney
  • How to use the fermentation process to preserve vegetables (sauerkraut)
  • How to make delicious Italian preserves such as vegetables in oil and pesto
  • Learn the science behind preserving, including set points and crinkle tests
  • How to sterilise jars for safe use
  • A delicious organic plant based lunch and recipes to keep 

Please note you will need to bring 3-4 jam jars with you to take home your preserves.
