The weekend offers a chance to experience innovative urban design such as community re-use, collaborative buying, community currency trading and consent-based decision making.
Price: £100 but you can part pay in community currency
The course covers the fundamentals of permaculture, including:
• Ethics and principles
• Design tools
• Observation skills
• Practical design activity
• Local networks and projects

Of special interest is the course looking at the permaculture design evident in new and innovative systems of community currency, fresh produce distribution, waste management (re-use and recycling), and dynamic governance (consent based decision making). How can permaculture design can be integrated into our communities and grown to scale?

WHO IS IT FOR? Would you like to gain a knowledge and understanding of the basics of permaculture and leave inspired with ideas? No previous knowledge of permaculture needed.

VENUE: Hive Dalston is a new type of arts, culture and environmental centre showcasing creative uses of space. Situated at 260-264 Kingsland Road, London E8 4DG, Hive Dalston is 2 minutes from Haggerston Overground Station with many buses stopping outside.

Les holds a Diploma in Applied Permaculture Design and specialises in urban broadscale design. He applies permaculture design to his work to maximise impact whilst ensuring least (environmental) cost. He recently completed a Permaculture Educator’s Course in Friland, Denmark.
