Living the New Economy: Hackney 2014

Living the New Economy (LNE) encompasses phenomena such as collaborative consumption and community currencies, co-operatives and co-operation, crowdfunding, localised food production and the gift economy. It is a hands-on collaboration to encourage thriving in an emerging global movement that aims to re-localise economic activity and link business ideas to solving our most pressing social and environmental challenges.

Where did the idea come from?

The first convergences of ideas, resources, and happened in 2012/3 around Vancouver, Canada, In February 2014 the first UK LNE weekend event took place in Manchester.

 What are the outcomes?

LNE helps create new collaborations, facilitate new project partnerships, accelerate the work of social entrepreneurs, and showcase local innovation.

How does it work?

The weekend is about collaborating, co-operating, sharing and gifting. Drop in for a session or stay for longer, join us for great discussion, good food, and a real opportunity to make a change.
