We grow trees at the Hackney Community tree nursery and plant them out into Hackney Parks. In recent years we have planted the following on Well Street Common:

• 2015 4 Scot's pine, 1 hornbean, 1 Holm oak;
• 2014 4 Scot's pine;
• 2012 3 native black poplar;
• 2011 12 tree orchard.

Newly planted trees need aftercare (watering, weeding, etc.) because they need to establish roots in their new location.

Locally Grown

We reduce carbon by minimising tarnsport and reduce transmission of disease by limited movement. We also connect people to their parks by growing on trees local people have grown from seed.
